One of my short stories was published today in an online magazine called The Worlds Within Welcome to The Worlds Within – The Worlds Within.
My short story is called Devil’s Bargain. Devil’s Bargain – The Worlds Within
I must warn the reader that story is it somewhere north of 6000 words long. I hope someone enjoys it!
The first couple of paragraphs read:
“I’m not worthy. I—I’m not a virgin.”
Gods help me; it was the truth. A few gasps escaped from the people gathering outside our front door. Other people tittered. My beloved Vane, the cobbler’s son, stepped away toward the edge of the crowd, but he did not escape Papa’s glare.
“The lot fell upon you, Hilda, Brennen’s daughter,” the priest said. “To refuse is to bring the penalty of death on your family.”

I read your story in one sitting! It was engaging and I kept wondering what was going to happen on several levels. This usually isn’t the type of genre I read, but your story was so good. And you didn’t let the world in your story overtake the plot and characters. So, I got caught up in your story, buying into it as if it could all really happen! Congratulations on your publication!
